Projects at Casa Grande High School
I taught science at CGHS for 16 years. Many sources of funding were used to build the Native Plant Nursery and Outdoor Learning Environment (OLE). Students and volunteers helped with construction, maintenance, and growing plants, a true hands on learning experience. Many Senior and Eagle Scout Projects were sponsored in the process.
Casa Grande Native Plant Nursery I built with help from SCWA and city grants and funding. Plants went into local creeks to create riparian habitat.
Raised Bed Garden in OLE built with help and funding from Rotarians. 42 Raised beds now used by garden classes at CGHS. Shed made by PHS woodshop students with green roof made with help of Eagle Scout.
