Starting the Campaign
I recently decided to run for City Council after several people suggested, nudged, and even arm twisted. I heard the call and signed up. The picture of me is at Steamer Landing, a city park, where Friends of the River run education programs and River Park Foundation bought the rest of McNear Peninsula to create a new city park. I helped plant many of the trees in the background and working with River Park Foundation to move their vision forward. Their efforts inspired me to join City Council to implement policies and management to create more open space for people and green space for habitat. While on the General Plan Advisory Committee I learned much about housing, growth, water, homeless, and transit. Being on the bus with the volunteer consultants from American Institute of Architecture and City Staff touring the city impressed me with how we can transition to stronger community. I now look forward to campaigning and meeting everyone to create a new vision.
